The impact was so severe that carriages were sent hurtling into the air, twisted, and ultimately derailed from the tracks. 

Shockingly, the force of the collision caused one carriage to flip entirely onto its roof, resulting in a crushing blow to the passenger section. The devastation and chaos left behind severed limbs scattered amidst the wreckage, adding to the horrors witnessed by survivors.

Following the tragic incident, rescue operations were swiftly launched to save as many lives as possible. The Railways Spokesperson, Amitabh Sharma, confirmed the completion of the rescue operation and shifted the focus to restoration work. 

Additionally, a high-level committee to thoroughly investigate the crash was formed, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The committee made up of three IAS officers, will go to the accident scene to help with relief and rescue operations. If necessary, ambulances are ready for deployment right away.

Government Support and Compensation Measures:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the accident and pledged his support to the affected individuals. He announced a compensation of ₹2 lahks for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured from the PM's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). 

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also declared compensation of ₹10 lahks for the families of those who lost their lives, ₹2 lahks for the seriously injured, and ₹50,000 for those with minor injuries. This compassionate gesture aims to assist the affected families during these difficult times.

State Mourning and Ongoing Investigations:

Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister, proclaimed a day of national mourning in memory of the victims of this terrible train accident. 

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured her continuous monitoring of the situation, working closely with officials to ensure prompt action and assistance. As the investigation into the accident commences, the Railway Ministry has ordered a thorough probe to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
